Maintaining a healthy weight is important for both your physical and mental health. A healthy weight may vary between different people. Being overweight or obese can increase your risk of developing several serious health conditions.

 

There are many different ways to lose weight. Fad diets are not the answer. The best way to lose weight is the method that works best for you. We all know that achieving or maintaining a healthy weight means a healthy diet and regular exercise. Some health conditions may make it challenging. Therefore, it is important to speak with your GP with your full medical history to discuss suitable weight-loss strategies and possibly involve an accredited practising dietitian and exercise physiologist.

Hair Loss

All of us will suffer from some degree of hair loss as we age. Different causes of hair loss include male pattern baldness, female pattern baldness and alopecia areata (small areas of round patches). Occasionally, hair loss can also be caused by certain medications, medical conditions or psychological reasons, which is important to exclude.

 

Although there is no cure for hair loss, a few treatments can slow down the process by preventing further hair loss and stimulating partial regrowth. Some of these options include hair lotions or serums and oral tablets. For more advanced balding, surgical hair transplant can be considered.
